The death of Bro. Michael Abraham Marks on July 4 during the summer intermission was read. Bro. Marks was the second oldest member in years of membership. He was eighty-eight years of age and had been a member for sixty-six years.Sept. 19, 1947
Rt. Wor. William H. Bray made his Official Visitation and presented Wor. Bro. Charles Alderman with a Veterans Medal. Wor. Bro. Alderman was made a Mason in 1897 and was Master of the Lodge in 1912. At this time he was eighty-two years of age. His record for calling on the sick was outstanding and his sympathetic consideration for those in distress of any kind was always evident.Nov. 23, 1947
Sunday afternoon, 2:15 P.M., Lodge opened on Master Masons Degree and the Most Worshipful Samuel Holmes Wragg, Grand Master of Masons in Massachusetts was introduced by Wor. Bro. Douglas Rawlinson, Master of William Whiting Lodge who with R. Wor. Bros. A. A. Brooks, Robert Gillette and Charles M. Gillette formed the reception committee. After the introductions were over the Grand, Master assumed the East and seated the Lodge. The Wor. Master slated the communication had been called for the purpose of attending a divine service at Skinner Memorial Chapel. The procession was made up of the officers and members of Mount Tom and William Whiting Lodges, also members of the other Masonic bodies. In addition members of the Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls attended the service and the Rainbow Girls conducted their Candle Light Service. Rev. Bro. Ronald J. Tamblyn, member of William Whiting Lodge, conducted the service. Bro. James Scott was soloist and Mrs. Robert B. Pine, organist of the Eastern Star, presided at the organ. The Most Wor. Grand Master was the speaker, and gave an interesting, inspiring and enlightening talk on Free Masonry. At the conclusion of the service the Lodges returned to the Temple and the Most Wor. G. Master closed the Lodge in Ample Form, the Grand Marshal extinguished the Lights. Wor. Bro. Ball, Supt. of the Masonic Home, was the guest of the Grand Master and of Mount Tom Lodge.
