The question of Lodge finances was taken up, notice having been previously sent to the members. A motion was made and seconded that we live within our income. An extended discussion followed. After all had ample opportunity to discuss the motion, upon vote of the Lodge it was unanimously carried.April 14, 1939
R.W. Ronald Astley, newly appointed D. D. G. Master was the honor guest of the evening. The Past Masters of Mount Holyoke Lodge worked the Master Mason degree. A large and distinguished suite accompanied R. W. Astley and it was interesting to note that he was able to introduce every one by name, rank and lodge, evidencing a wonderfully retentive memory.May 26, 1939
Lodge was opened on Third degree at 7:45 P.M. Attendance 237. The Wor. Master announced the purpose of the meeting was to receive the Most. Wor. Grand Master Joseph L. Perry who was here for the purpose of meeting the Masons of the Holyoke 17th, the Chicopee 18th and Springfield 18th districts. After the usual introductions the Grand Master assumed the East and the Oriental Chair. He then presented Veteran Medals to R. W. Brooks and Bros. John Thomson and George P. Rice. Four other members, Edmund J. Crowthers, Frank L. Haskell, Addison L. Green and Dr. Frederick F. Celce were to receive medals but were unable to be present. He gave an interesting talk and called on other distinguished guests. During the evening several selections were rendered by a double quartette. Preceding the work a dinner was served to 175 in the auditorium.
