EMT-Basics in Massachusetts must complete 28 hours of continuing education AND a 24-hour refresher course in order to renew their certifications. All hours, including refresher course, must be completed by December 31st the year BEFORE your April expiration date. All hours and an application for recertification (available on the MA OEMS website) must be submitted to MA OEMS by January 31st of the year of your April expiration date.
