Hampshire College Health Services (x5458)

Health services, located in Montague Hall, offers a comprehensive program which combines preventive medicine and health education with the treatment of illness, injury, and emotional problems. The staff includes nurse practitioners, psychologists, a health educator, and a secretary/receptionist. Clinic hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p. m. weekdays. Students are seen primarily by appointment. When Hampshire's heath center is closed during the acedemic year (weekends, nights, and during vacation peroids), students with emergency problems may been seen at the University of Massachusetts Health Center. information about all visits is kept in strict confidence.

Counselor Advocates Against Sexual Abuse (x5424)

The Counselor Advocates Program provides counseling and support to students who have been victims of sextual or physical abuse. Staffed by a professional and several student volunteers, CAASA tains students in peer counseling and referral and serves as a resource for groups on other college campuses who wish to establish similar organizations.

Public Safety (x5424)

Public Safety doesn't just lock doors at night!! They also can give sick student a ride to Health Services if you are unable to walk. If you see someone on campus that you don't think should be here, or see someone who needs help, this is a good number to call. Public Safety can let you into your room if you find yourself locked out at night, and are also availble to help in any type of crisis.
University Health Services/UMass Infirmary (9-577-5000)
UMass handles all the people who need to be seen after Health Services is closed, and also will take care of the things that Health Services is not equipped to deal with, such as x-rays.

House Offices

The House Offices are open from 10-4:30, Monday through Friday. They are able to assist student in housing, emotional, and physical problems (such as being locked out of your room!) They know they people that need to be contacted and can help with lots of problems. If the house office is closed, then you can call the switchboard at x5456 and they will be able to beep the intern that is on call.

If you only memorize one Hampshire number, this is it. These are the people who keep the school running. They handle fire drills, page the interns, dispatch the EMT's and feed the Public Safety Officers donuts (and the EMT's sometimes too!). They will be able to connect you to someone who will be able to help you. If in doubt, simply call these people!

The Hampshire College EMTs (x5555)

The Hampshire College EMT's are on call seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Simply dial 5555 on any telephone, explain your medical situation, and you will soon have a helpful and cheerful EMT on your doorstep.
